Managing Stress

Stress! Who hasn’t felt stressed at some point in their lives. We seem to live in stressful times – too many things to do, too many commitments to juggle, the fear of missing out, the need to have a perfect life. Stress can cause all sorts of mental and physical problems, anxiety, worry, bad sleep, poor digestion, skin issues. Managing stress can be challenging and so here are some homeopathic remedies which can help:

 

Aconite

If stress is causing you to feel fearful, especially as if you might die, then Aconite is for you. It is also good for times when nothing makes you feel better or if you are frozen with fear.  

 

Arsenicum

Are you feeling restless and cannot be reassured – Arsenicum will help. It is especially good if the stress is about health or money.

 

Cocculus

Cocculus is good if stress making you feel dizzy or disorientated, especially if part of the problem is disturbed sleep or not enough sleep.

 

Lycopodium

If a lack of confidence is causing you stress and your digestive system is also upset, Lycopodium is the one to try.

 

Gelsenium

Gelsenium is another remedy for being paralysed with fear. This tends to be fear about an upcoming event. It is useful if you are feeling weak, shaky and / or incapable of doing anything.  

 

Passiflora

If you are unable to sleep due to a busy mind, spiralling thoughts or stress then Passiflora will ease your symptoms and restore calm. It doesn’t cause drowsiness and so can be used at any time of day.

 

Have a look at the list and decide which remedy matches your symptoms most closely. Then take one pillule in 30c potency (strength) every half an hour for two hours or until your symptoms improve. If they improve and then return, take the remedy again and repeat it whenever your symptoms reappear. If there is no improvement in symptoms in two hours, try a different remedy. If your symptoms change you will also need a different remedy.
